I graduated with distinction from McGill University in Montreal,Canada, with a B.Sc. in Physical Therapy (2000). During my studies, I spent a summer working for Synergy Rehabilitation, in California, and later volunteered my time assisting the McGill Martlets volleyball team. After graduation, I immediately joined the innovative team at the Montreal Shriner's Hospital where I specialized in pediatric orthopedics.
Following a trip to Central America (where I met my husband and had our first child), I returned to Montreal where I began working with adults in the private sector. During that period I was 'turned off' by a brief experience in a clinic where I was expected to treat several patients simultaneously, using lots of machines and thermal modalities. I quickly turned towards the Club Medico Sportif in NDG, attracted by its philosophy and the Mézières postural re-education approach their physiotherapists practiced. There I was able to apply and develop my interest in personalized physiotherapy, one-on-one with clients, aimed at correcting the root problems creating pain, rather than focussing on a symptomatic 'band aid' approach to treatment (in a hectic open concept environment common to physiotherapy clinics). This is where I came to know and got interested in osteopathy.
In the fall of 2007, I decided to join a group of self-employed, holistic health care practitioners at Décarie boulevard's 'Maison du Saule' in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Wishing to understand the human body more deeply and treat people more effectively, I also began the study of Osteopathy at that time at the Centre Ostéopatique du Québec. In 2013, I successfully completed the diploma in osteopathy making me a fully licenced D.O./Osteopath!
While getting established as an independent professional, I also worked part time for SOS Physio, in Côte-St-Luc (2007-2010), Clinique de physiothérapie et ostéopathie St-Constant (2010-2011), and Clinique de physiothérapie et ostéopathie Hickson, in Verdun (2011-2013). I am pleased to now offer my services full time at my Decarie office.
My professional path testifies to my deep desire to understand how humans work and how each part is interrelated in order to better provide my patients with quick and durable relief from their suffering.
If my approach appeals to you, feel free to contact me for an appointment, I'll be glad to help!
